Google+ Adds Photo Reminder to Increase Engagement

At RezStream, we are big fans of Google and love to see their methods of helping businesses be successful. The most recent, subtle- yet effective change Google implemented is the photo sharing feature on Google+. The introduction of the red line reminder under the photo icon reminds the social networker to share a photo with every post. Even inexperienced social networkers realize it’s essential to include photographs with the subtle reminder! It’s so small and simple, but hard to miss before you click the share button. Here’s a snapshot of the new reminder.

A recent article published on the HubSpot blog highlighted the importance of posting visual content on your website and social networks due to the engaging nature and mass appeal to a wide range of users. You can view the article here if you want to find some general details about the impact of photos and videos on Pinterest and Facebook.

For the hospitality industry, that’s pretty exciting because most of the sales and booking are proven to occur after viewing a video or exploring photographs of the vacation destination. According to Google, 74 percent of affluent travelers and 45 percent of leisure travelers have booked a trip as a result of travel videos. We created this infographic to put the importance of travel videos into perspective.

If you want results, it’s time to get visual. Put those vacation dreamers’ eyes to work and consider hiring a videographer to showcase your property to the online world.
