I've installed the program. How do I get started with RezStream?
Note: Please see the Help File Topic "Configuration Steps" for more specific information and links to information about configuring each specific area of the program. You can also view the Installation and Configuration guides on our documentation page.
There are two primary tasks you will need to complete within the configuration process. The first is Tools> Configuration , and the second is Tools> Unit Setup.
Once you have completed these main tasks, you can can start using RezStream to record reservations, or if you wish, configure the other options in RezStream.
Important: It is critical to complete the process in the exact order that is listed below. It is also vital that you do your final configuration after you transfer any data from other programs into RezStream. Otherwise, you will erase important previous work you have done.
Remember: Do the final configuration within RezStream after you have done a data conversion from your other program. We highly suggest that you do not convert your data again after you complete the final configuration.

When you setup RezStream to adapt to your business situation do not randomly delete the demo information in different database fields unless you intend to replace it with your own data. Databases can lose their cohesiveness if data fields are randomly left blank. The rule of thumb is that if you do not use a feature in RezStream and you see information in a data field, LEAVE IT ALONE. When you set up any Point of Sale Items and you do not know what your price for an item will be, or your price fluctuates, set the price to 0. Do not leave the price field empty.

Do not use quotation marks, comas, or apostrophes when entering customer names, Point of Sale items, Holidays, Sources of Business, or other data. These characters are used for processing data in databases. If you use them it may cause program conflicts.

Why is there no "Save" button on most of the screens?
RezStream is an auto-save program. That means you do not have to click on "save" buttons to save information you type into the program. The exception to this rule is that some screens do have a "close" button at the bottom. In this case click on the close buttons to exit these screens.

Why does RezStream always prompt me to sign in when I open the program?
This is a security measure and is designed to a) prevent unauthorized access to RezStream and b) provide the ability to log user activity based on who is signed in to the program.
One of the first things you should do after installing RezStream is to change the initial password configuration and set up new users and levels of user access. RezStream allows businesses to create different user level access for different employees with various clearance levels. To change or add user names and passwords go to Tools>Configure>Users.

Gather data on all the individual taxes that exist where you do business.
Gather data on all the individual taxes that exist where you do business. RezStream supports unlimited individual taxes and unlimited grouping of taxes. Some businesses are subject to only one or two taxes. Other businesses will have many different taxes that need to be grouped together for different types of purchases. (Example: lodging may have one set of taxes and retail sales may have another.) Knowing what taxes exist in your area will help you when you set up individual taxes and then later group them together so that they can always be applied to different types of customer purchases.

You will need to know the rates you charge for rental items.
