- If you suspect that a database may be damaged...
If you suspect that a database may be damaged close RezStream on all computers on which it is installed. It is very important to try to repair your main database before you attempt to restore from a backup file.
To do this go to Start > Programs > RezStream > RezStream File Utility. A small box will appear. If the File Utility is not shown in your list, you may access it by opening Windows Explorer and going to: C:\Program Files\RezStream. Double left click on the ROUtility.exe file.- Make sure that the screen says, "ready" before attempting to repair the data file.
- Go to: File>Repair File. The repair will only take a short time and a message will appear just above the close button to let you know if the repair is successful.
- If the File Utility is successful you will see a message that says "Repair Successful." If you see this message (above the "Close" button) close the File Repair screen and attempt to open RezStream.

- You attempt to open the File Utility and it says: "Problem with database connection"
If you attempt to open the File Utility and it says: "Problem with database connection", the database may not be accessible on the network. If you do not have a network, then the database may be missing. You may need to copy the data file back to C:\Program Files\RezStream\ to get the file utility to work.

- How to restore from backup
- From the Reserve by Day Screen go to: Help > Support > Restore From Backup. Only answer Yes if you are positive that you want to delete your main data file. If you answer yes, a small screen will appear that says "Database missing choose backup file." Answer OK.
- A screen will appear that will let you select the backup that you would like to restore from. You may browse if you have a backup file on a zip drive or CD-RW.
- Choose your most recent backup to restore from. Select the most recent file to restore from. Warning: if you do not make consistent backups, you will lose critical data if you restore from an old backup.
- After you select the file to restore from, click on Open. RezStream will then reload and you will then have to enter your password to access the program. Go to the Point of Sale screen to vew the most recent reservations that were entered or go to Reports > Miscellaneous > Log of Activity to see what transactions are included in the backup file. This will tell you what important data may be missing.
