RezStream Professional UPDATE DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

For users updating RezStream on a Network Installation (2 or more computers), see the instructions under " Updating a Network Installation " below .

For users of the Booking Engine, see the " Booking Engine SOAP Install " instructions after you install the update.

Are you receiving an updates expired message when downloading an update? Please see the updates FAQ for assistance.

Updating an Individual Installation of RezStream Professional (running on 1 computer):

Step 1:
Close all programs except RezStream Professional.

Step 2:
Make sure you are connected to the Internet.

Step 3:
Open RezStream Professional and click on "Help" and then choose "Support -> Download RezStream Update". RezStream Professional will download the latest update to your computer. This may take a while if you have a slow internet connection.

NOTE :

  • If you get a warning saying your update contract has expired, you may need to purchase or authorize your update subscription.
    Please call support at 303-872-0220 in order to do so.
  • If you get a connection error message, please check your Internet and/or firewall settings. You may need to temporarily disable your firewall and/or grant our RezStream program access to the Internet. Please consult your firewall documentation for more details.

    Step 4:
    After the download is complete, exit RezStream Professional. Make sure you actually close the program - do not just minimize it.

    Step 5:
    When you close the program, it will ask you if you want to make a backup. Choose "Yes" and save this backup to a safe location (your hard drive, another computer, a ZIP disc, a USB Flash drive, or burn it to a CD.)

    NOTE : Please refer to the RezStream Help File for more information on making a backup of your database.

    Step 6:
    Assuming that RezStream is installed in the default location (C:\Program Files\RezStream), answer "Continue", "Ok", or "Yes" to all the screens that appear after you've closed RezStream Professional and made your backup. If RezStream is installed in a different directory, you will need to extract the program and reports updates to the directory you've installed it to. Note that you may be prompted to install the "SOAP Toolkit". This is a required step if you have the Booking Engine. Please see the " SOAP Install " instructions below.

    Step 7:
    Reopen RezStream Professional. The version number should read 2004.5.9. You can also confirm the version number by selecting Help > About from the menu in RezStream.

NOTE: If you receive an error "35602" when launching RezStream, click OK, log in, then exit RezStream. Open RezStream again and the error should not appear. This occurs because you did not follow the install procedures, and the Reports table in RezStream was not properly updated. However, RezStream will automatically correct this error when you reload it.


Updating a Network Installation of RezStream Professional (running on 2 or more computers connected to the same database):

Step 1:
Determine which machine is your RezStream database server. Have all other users exit RezStream Professional.

NOTE : If you are unsure which machine is your database server, please do the following:

  • On each computer, open RezStream and select File > Network Path.
  • At the top you should see an entry that says "Current:", followed by the path information. If the path reads "C:\Program Files\RezStream\" (or any other path beginning with a "C:\") then this computer is most likely the database server. If instead the path reads "R:\" or "\\SERVERNAME\RezStream\" then this computer is most likely the client or remote computer.
  1. If you are still not sure which machine is the database server, then please contact your system administrator or technical support.

    Step 2:
    On the RezStream database server, complete steps 1-6 as described above in "Updating an Individual Installation of RezStream Professional (running on 1 computer)".

    NOTE : DO NOT reopen RezStream on your database server yet. ALL machines need to be updated before you reopen the program.

    Step 3:
    On each additional client machine, complete steps 1-6 as described above in "Updating an Individual Installation of RezStream Professional (running on 1 computer)".

    Step 4:
    Once all the computers have been updated return to the database server and launch RezStream Professional (Please wait patiently for any database updates to complete.)

    Step 5:
    After you have signed onto RezStream Professional from the database server you may then start RezStream Professional on the other client computers.

Booking Engine SOAP Install

NOTE: If the SOAP install did not launch automatically, you must launch it manually. See below for instructions.

    • The SOAP install should be launched for you automatically. If it is not launched automatically, launch it on each computer by doing the following:
      Click on the Start button and select Run.
      In the box, type:
      C:\Program Files\RezStream\soapsdk.exe
    • Click "YES" to the "Install SOAP Toolkit" dialog.
    • Click Next.
    • Accept the terms of the License Agreement, and click Next.
    • Enter a User Name and Organization. It does not matter what information you enter.
    • Click Install.
    • Click Finish.
