What does the File Repair Utility do?
The repair utility has several built in features that allow users to attempt to repair corrupt data files, purge unwanted data, and fix other problems.
The utilty can be accessed by going to Start > All Programs > RezStream > RezStream File Utility.
If you suspect that a database may be damaged…
If you suspect that a database may be damaged close RezStream on all computers on which it is installed. It is very important to try to repair your main database before you attempt to restore from a backup file.
To do this go to Start > Programs > RezStream > RezStream File Utility. A small box will appear. If the File Utility is not shown in your list, you may access it by opening Windows Explorer and going to: C:\Program Files\RezStream. Double left click on the ROUtility.exe file.
You attempt to open the File Utility and it says: “Problem with database connection”
If you attempt to open the File Utility and it says: “Problem with database connection”, the database may not be accessible on the network. If you do not have a network, then the database may be missing. You may need to copy the data file back to C:\Program Files\RezStream\ to get the file utility to work.
How to restore from backup
Note: Each time you make a backup in RezStream it keeps track of the backup file by naming it RezStreamBackup-MMDDYY.zip (where MM = month, DD = day, and YY = year). If you make regular backups, you should have a number of backup files in your C:\Program Files\RezStream directory. You may also make backups to cd’s and zip drives. Make sure you do not make a backup of a damaged file unless you change the name to something like: “damaged.zip” before you save the backup.
