Its history is well documented and serves as an integral part of the story of this premier Merced bed & breakfast, most commonly referred to as “The White House.” As a Colonial-style home sitting on spacious grounds with gardens and fruit trees, the inn serves both the business and leisure traveler. The Hooper House offers five accommodation choices, all with private baths, period decorations and feather beds with down comforters. Full breakfasts are included in the room tariff. Guests choose from three suites in the main house of which the “Ray Paula” master suite is the most elegant, containing a fireplace, bath with original tile, and outdoor patio overlooking the garden. The “Buggy House” provides handicap accessible lodging and is set apart from the main house. The “Cottage” is perfect for a romantic interlude, with king bed, fireplace, Jacuzzi-style jetted tub in the tiled bath, and a private patio off its kitchen.
