Sharing SEO tips at the Southern CH&LA Conference

Growing up we learn that Pandas are black and white bears, but over at Google the word Panda takes on a new meaning and affects how your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy is working.

Liz Day heads down to the City of Industry in California for the one-day CH&LA conference to share what you need to be doing now to make sure your property’s website is optimized for these Google changes, such as Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird, so you don’t get lost in the SEO zoo.

During the conference, at the Pacific Palms Resort, Liz covers the various updates Google has made to its search engine and provides tips for maximizing your SEO efforts. To give you a sneak peek of her presentation, we’re sharing two top tips for following the new SEO guidelines.

  • Title tags: When a search engine displays the results for your query, the blue header text is known as your title tag for that page of your website. Google recently increased the font size of title tags, meaning your title tags need to accurately reflect the page content and entice the searcher to click, in fewer than 55 characters.
  • Mobile UX: A major trend among all digital marketing professionals is making sure your website is optimized for your mobile users and that their experience with your site on any mobile device is positive. Google’s algorithm knows if your website is mobile-friendly which affects your property’s exposure for mobile searchers. If it takes too long for your content to load, users will head back to the search results, increasing your bounce rate which tells Google that your website may not be up to par for modern users.

Catch Liz’s presentation at 9:45 a.m. in the Pebble Beach room and be sure to stop by our booth, #93, during the Trade Show for an exclusive product offering!
