Is your PMS responsive?

By now, you know that your website needs to be responsive to meet your potential guests’ expectations but is your Property Management System (PMS) responsive to meet your needs?

We’ve put together a few reasons on why your PMS should be responsive:

  • Access anywhere: One of the biggest conveniences of a responsive design is the ability to access your software from any Internet-enabled device. Whether you’re on your desktop at the front desk or checking your smartphone while picking up groceries, you can access your PMS and see all of your reservation data because it’s in the Cloud, not stored on your actual computer.
  • Multiple users: With software that’s installed on your computer, it’s hard to have multiple people using the system at once, but with Cloud-based software you can have multiple users making changes to reservations, assigned tasks, or writing a new shared note without disturbing anyone else’s work. You can run reports from your office while another innkeeper takes a new reservation or checks in a guest.
  • Optimized display: Since you can access the software on a smartphone or tablet, a responsive design will automatically resize the screen to properly fit the device you’re using. No more zooming in or squinting to read the reservation data. Another bonus is that it doesn't matter what operating system or device you use to access the software. Apple or Android products or any desktop (with Internet) can access the PMS.
  • Mobile bookings: A responsive PMS will also include a responsive booking engine or a mobile booking engine to capture reservations from guests that are using a mobile device when planning travel.

Is your PMS responsive to your needs as an innkeeper? Evaluate your software and see if it’s time to transition to a Cloud-based solution.
